Excellent condition, 8/10, this is a recently |
restored and refinished guitar (probably around |
2018) in Limed Mahogany typical for circa 1955 ( |
Limed Mahogany or Natural finish, It has been |
defined as the Mark 1 version of the TV color , |
pleasantly darker and more transparent then the |
beige color or the canary yellow on later TV |
Models), the guitar has all original or at least |
era-correct parts for a 1957 Gibson guitar except |
for the tuners which are modern replicas of the |
single line Kluson Deluxe 3-on-a-strip without any |
markings on the back, pots date 134713 (13th week |
of 1957) and 134734 (34th week of 1957), but it |
has some stories; the neck and fingerboard has |
been replaced with a near perfect replica |
(possibly because of a neck break, very common |
solution), and there seems to be evidence of a |
filled neck pickup cavity so this guitar was |
probably routed for an extra P90 before it was |
restored, all the body cavities correspond to 50 s |
specs including the pickup cavity popsicle rout |
and no traces of sunburst color so we believe this |
to have been a TV finish from the factory, comes |
including a 1970 s shaped black Gibson hardcase |
with no logo on the lid and blue lining and a |
